Hung Hom Station, formerly known as Kowloon Station, is the terminal station of the East Rail Line, West Rail Line, and the Intercity Through Trains in Hong Kong. It is also the center of the Hong Kong Metro Railway Station.
The station serves as the major station for people traveling between Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland. It is 2,407 kilometers from Beijing West Railway Station and 35 kilometers from Shenzhen Railway Station. It only takes 30-40 minutes to get to Guangzhou by train from there.

Through Trains to Beijing/Shanghai/Guangzhou
There are three through train routes starting from Hung Hom Railway Station. They are from Hong Kong to Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. These trains are slower than high-speed trains but the ticket price is cheaper. See the through train routes below to get some travel ideas for planning trips in China:
1. Hong Kong - Beijing Through Train: Z98 (15:15 departs from Hung Hom Railway Station at 15:15 and arrives at Beijing West Railway Station at 15:30 the next day); Z97 (12:40 from Beijing West and arrives at Hung Hom at 13:01 the next day). This pair of trains run every other day.
2. Hong Kong - Shanghai Through Train: Z100 (15:15 departs from Hung Hom Railway Station at 15:15 and arrives at Shanghai Railway Station at 10:37 the next day); Z99 (17:45 from Shanghai and arrives at Hung Hom at 13:01 the next day). This pair of trains run every other day.
3. Hong Kong - Guangzhou Through Train: There are 12 daily trains from Hung Hom Railway Station to Guangzhou East Railway Station, with a travel time of around 2 hours.
Transportation to Hung Hom Railway Station
By MTR: Hung Hom Railway Station is the terminus of the East Rail Line and West Rail Line, and an intermediate station of Tuen Ma Line of the MTR network. You can take MTR from Hung Hom to almost every major attraction by metro.
By Bus: bus 5C, 8, 8A, 11K, 11X, 21, 81C, 87D, 260A and 260X can get you to Hung Hom Railway Station. Minibus and intercity buses are also good modes of transportation to Hung Hom.
How to Get to Hong Kong Airport from Hung Hom Railway Station
By MTR: Take Tuen Ma Line to MTR Nam Cheong Station (it takes 20 minutes, US$5 per ticket), then transfer to MTR Airport Express to Hung Hom Railway Station (it takes 25 minutes, US$15 per ticket).
By Airport Express Bus: The more convenient and cheaper way from Hung Hom Railway Station to Hong Kong International Airport is taking the Airport Express Bus A21. The bus travel between the railway station and the airport directly, without having to transfer. The travel time is about 80 minutes. The fare is US$ 5.
