Gulang Huandao Road

Gulang Huandao Road lasts about 6 kilometers long around Gulang Island. It has been used since 1987. Roads, tunnels, and bridges consist of the Gulang Huandao Road. It starts from Ferry Square, running through the main attractions on Gulang Island, and ends on the west side of Ferry Square.

Gulang Huandao Road itself is gorgeous scenery. Walking along the road, visitors will appreciate the natural scenery on Gulang Island as well as the blue sky and sea adding radiance and charm to each. The myriads of changes of attractions give visitors infinite dreams.

Cycling on the road will give visitors relaxation. However, bikes and motor vehicles are forbidden on Gulang Island.

Ferry Square - Haoyueyuan - Dadeji Bathing Place - Baywatch Park - Shuzhuang Garden - Seashore Bathing Place - tunnel - Gulang Resort Villa - Subtropical Botanical Garden - Neicuowo - Yanwei Hill - Gulang Park - Ferry Square

How to Get There?

Take BRT No.1, public bus No. 2、8、11、12、19、23、25、28、30、31、32、44、50、66、67 and 85 to the first wharf public bus junction station.

Then walk about 263 meters towards the south, visitors will see the first wharf.

Take the ferry to at here to Gulangyu Neicuowo wharf.

Shuzhuang Garden

Shuzhuang Garden lies on the south side of Gulang Island, which is divided into two main sections. One is the Canghai Garden (or “Hiding the Sea” Garden), which faces the sea and another is the Bushan Garden (or “Making-Up Hills” Garden), which faces the hills.

Bright Moon Garden

The Bright Moon Garden is located east of the Gulangyu Island on the shore of the Dingfu Rock, which is decorated with pavilions, green trees, and shaped rocks. The Bright Moon Garden is named after a very popular poem and was built in the year 1985. It is home to a large number of bronze statues of the Qing and Ming Dynasty’s hero, Zheng Chenggong, and his subordinates.

Xiamen Underwater World

Xiamen Underwater World is near the wharf of Gulang Island. There are over 10,000 fishes in more than 350 species. The biggest octopus bronze statue sits near the entrance. There is an underwater tunnel 80 meters long and 1.5 meters wide. Visitors may watch large whales swim above them and feed fish performance.
